It only seems like yesterday that Chris left his home town of Oberon New South Wales, with the words of his mother ringing in his ears. She said, “Christopher, never give up you’ve just got to do whatever it takes.” Inspired by these words of encouragement, Chris wrote and recorded what has now become his signature song “Whatever It Takes”, and so began his many times difficult but always rewarding journey of following the music.

In the beginning he was at heart a country boy writing and singing folk and country songs, but when introduced to the music of Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash, and later the sound of Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton and Brandi Carlisle, their influences filtered through into what has become Chris’s own brand of country blues.

Fast forward twenty five years of constant touring and performing, Chris now proudly presents CC’s Got The Blues. This show is filled with two hours of highly entertaining songs and stories which document his transition from Country to Country Blues.

By popular demand Chris's new show The Good Old Boys of Country Blues contains elements of CC’s Got The Blues, the best of Troubadours & Outlaws, and Chris Callaghan, The Modern Day Troubadour. This show features his own brand of original country music together with his take on the hit songs by legendary outlaws Waylon & Willie, Johnny & Kris aka The Highwaymen. Then a salute to the super-group era of Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, George Harrison and Jeff Lynne as The Traveling Wilburys. Also included is inspired music from legends Merle Haggard, Hank and Don Williams and Guy Clark.
